Udupi: Assault accused sentenced to imprisonment, pay fine

Udupi, Nov 8: The court here slapped a sentence of a year’s imprisonment and ordered to pay a fine of Rs 2,500 to accused Michael Louis who had illegally entered the coconut cultivations of Alan Louis at Kudru, Padutonse, fought over land dispute, assaulted and threatened to kill Alan Louis.

Malpe police station inspector Janardhan Devadiga had submitted a charge sheet to the court. The judge Sham Prasad who heard the arguments concluded that the guilt is proved by witnesses and proof and pronounced the judgement.

Assistant government prosecutor Mohini K argued the case for the government.
