Bahrain, Nov 9: Bahrain Kulals organization held Kumbha Trophy 2023 cricket tournament at Rafa club stadium of the city. Hundreds of cricket lovers watched the matches.
The tournament began at 6 am in the morning and went on till late night. 12 teams of men and four teams of women of Karnataka origin took part in the competition. Bunt Bahrains team emerged winners in both men and women category. Bahrain Kulals teams were the runner up in both categories.
The tournament was organized under the leadership of Guruprasad Ekkar, president of Bahrain Kulals. Anil Das, achiever of Kulal community and Chandappa Moolya, retired deputy commander of BSF and MD of Amoolya Gas Agency were the chief guests.
Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain cricket board advisory committee, Amarnath Rai, former president of Kannada Sangha, Austin Santhosh, Rajkumar, Rajesh Shetty, Satish Acharya, president of Vishwakarma Seva Balaga, Harish Poojary, president of Bahrain Billavas, Roopesh Suvarna, chief secretary, Ajit Bangera, former president, Arun Shetty, president of Bunts Bahrain, Asif, zonal officer of Al Hilal hospital, D Ramesh, Vijaya Naik, Amith Devadiga of Tulucinema.com, Nagaraj, Ganesh Manila, Radhakrishna Kulal and officer bearers of Bahrain Kulals administrative committee were present.
Ganesh Manila and Vishala Kishore gave introduction of Anil Das and Chandappa Moolya, achievers of Kulala society. Both were felicitated.
Both achievers said, “The working style of Bahrain Kulals, who have organized such a wonderful tournament is appreciable. Relations between human beings gets cemented due to these kind of tournaments. It unites us.”
Guruprasad Ekkaru, who did the introductory speech offered gratitude to all the sponsors and volunteers who extended their effort to hold the tournament in an excellent manner. All were given mementos. Cash prizes were given to winners along with trophies.
Jayaraj bagged the best fielder award in men, Disil was the best batsman, Sunil Kulal was the best bowler. Bharath Shetty won the best player award of the finals. Sunil Kulal won the man of the series award.
In the women’s section Veera Korda won the best fielder award, Kabiya Badoni was the best batswoman, Sayi Parki was the best bowler. Pavithra Shetty won the best player award of final match and Sayi Parki won the woman of the series award. Kamalaksha Amin compered the valedictory function.
