Udupi, Nov 10: The Horeknike procession ahead of the platinum Jubilee celebrations of St Vincent De Paul church Katapady was held on Friday, November 10.
The procession began from Katapady town and culminated at Katapady church. Hundreds of faithful from nearby parishes, local organization's, non catholic brethren of Katapady and others took part in the horekanike procession.
Ravi Katapady, social worker flagged off the procession in Katapady town. Speaking on the occasion he said, "This is a great privilege for me to flag off this horekanike procession. Let us live with harmony in upcoming days too".
Various offerings including vegetables, coconut, and other items were brought in the procession.
Horekanike was offered by Vishwanatha Kshethra Katapaady, Sri Mahalingeshwara temple Katapady, Lions club Katapady, Navodaya self help groups, Christha Mahima CSI Church Manipura, churches of Udupi deanery and Udupi diocese and others.
Fellowship meal has been organized on the occasion of platinum Jubilee celebrations on November 11, at the church premise.
Fr Rajesh Pasannaa, parish priest of Katapady church proposed a vote of thanks.
Fr Charles Menezes, dean, Udupi deanery, Fr Ronson D'Souza, director of Holy Cross Student Home Katapady, Brian Correa, vice-president of the parish pastoral committee, Teresa Lobo, secretary, Louis D'Silva, coordinator of 20 Commissions parishioners, priests from the deanery were present.
The platinum jubilee celebrations of St Vincent De Paul Church, Katapadi will be held on November 14 with the participation of various dignitaries and devotees
On November 14, at 9.30 am, the Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo will lead the thanksgiving service. After that, at 11.30 am, a felicitation programme will be held under the presidency of Dr Gerald Issac Lobo, Bishop diocese of Udupi.
