Kundapur, Nov 11: Kannada movie actor S Doddanna said that Kundagannadigas have contributed immensely to the development of Kannada film world. In addition, a unique contribution is given by the people of this land to Hindi and Tamil movie industries.
Doddanna spoke after receiving the Panchavarna Rajyotsava award in a programme that was held on November 10 at Gandhi Maidan of Kota organized by Panchavarna Yuvaka Mandala Kota and Panchavarna Mahila Mandala.
Doddanna further said, “When organizations do pro-social work their formation becomes fruitful. Accordingly, the Panchavarna organization has become a model through its social works.”
Jayaprakash Hegde, president of minority classes commission, said, “Art is embedded in everyone. But identifying such talent and honouring them should be done by organizations. The same is being done by Panchavarna foundation.”
Ananda C Kundar, sponsor of Geetananda Foundation Manoor Padukare inaugurated the programme.
Doddanna was honoured with Panchavarna award. Special felicitation was given to Clean Trasi Maravante team, stage actor Dr Radhakrishna Urala and social worker Asha V Ramanagara.
Talent award, scholarships for financially poor and sick were distributed. Uniform was given to local Anganwadi. Funds were given to Kannada medium government schools.
Swimming expert Digant Kotathattu, district rajyotsava award winning agriculturist Jayaram Shetty Manoor, academic achiever and best state teacher award winner Narendra Kumar Kota, district rajyotsava award winner Krishnamurthy Urala and Srinivasa Jogi were honoured.
The programme was presided over by Ajit Achar, president of the association. Kundapur MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, KPCC spokesperson Sudhir Kumar Maroli, Psychiatrist Dr Prakash Tolar, entrepreneur M C Chandrashekhara, State chief secretary of national human rights commission Dinesh Ganiga Kota, All Karnataka Jogi samaja president Devaraja Jogi, teacher Narendra Kumar Kota, Shivin group Naresh Bhat, chief of Pandeshwara Rakteshwari temple Ramesh Rao, hotel entrepreneur Venkatesh Prabhu, entrepreneur Srikant Shenoy, honorary president of Mahila Mandala Kusuma Devadiga, president of Panchavarna Mahila Mandala Kalavati Ashok and honorary president of Panchavarna Shevadi Suresh Ganiga were present.
