Mount Carmel inaugurates kindergarten library along with Children’s’ Day celebrations

Mangaluru, Nov 11: Mount Carmel Central School inaugurated the kindergarten ibrary along with the celebration of Children’s’ Day in all its radiance, drive and liveliness on November 10.

The little ones talents were tapped by conducting a week long competitions like singing, dancing and fancy dress. The celebration commenced with an invocation by the students. Daiwik and Avani welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest Geetha, the school’s librarian followed by an unique act of welcome by the children. The chief guest along with the dignitaries inaugurated the new library, prayed over and placed some books in the library. It was truly overwhelming to hear the children read aloud to the audience, from the book prepared artistically for the day.

The chief guest Geetha in her message cited the importance of reading and urged her colleagues and parents to inculcate reading habits in their children in their formative years. The principal shared her joy of the dream come true in this project of a library for the kindergarten and enumerated the benefits of good reading habits i.e concentration, memory and vocabulary.

The winners of the various competitions were felicitated. The spice in the programme was the dance performed by the kindergarten teachers which lit up the faces of their students, followed by greetings to the children on the occasion of Children’s Day. Freya and Roxanne delivered a heartfelt note of gratitude. The celebration ended with the tapping to the rhythm of music and a feast to their palate with ice-cream.
