Udupi, Nov 12: In a shocking and horrifying incident, four individuals, including a mother and her three children, were found brutally murdered in Hampankatte of Kemmannu, falling under the jurisdiction of the Malpe police station.
The incident unfolded on Sunday, November 12 morning between 8:30 and 9 AM. Preliminary reports indicate that a man forcibly entered a residence, engaged in a verbal altercation with the woman, and ruthlessly stabbed her along with her children to death.
The assailant initiated the brutal attack by stabbing the woman, identified as Haseena (46), followed by her children—Afnan (23) and Ainaz (21). Aseem (12), who was playing outside, rushed into the house upon hearing the screams, only to meet the same tragic fate at the hands of the assailant. Furthermore, the woman's mother-in-law was also targeted and is currently in critical condition, undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

The commotion alarmed the neighborhood, prompting a girl to emerge from her house upon hearing the distressing cries. The assailant, showing no mercy, threatened the girl before making a hasty escape from the scene.
Deceased Afnan was an employee of Air India Company while Ainas was studying in a logistics institute, Asim was a 8th standard student in a Udupi school and another male sibling who was not at home at the time of the attack, works in Indigo Company.
Deceased Haseena's husband Noor Muhammad is reportedly working in a Saudi Arabia. Superintendent of police Arun Kumar visited the crime scene to initiate investigations.
The police are working to uncover the motive behind the murders.
Forensic teams, dog squads and other investigations agencies have arrived at the spot.

Accused bald, wore mask, testifies auto driver who droped him to spot
The accused had come in an auto-rickshaw from Santhekatte, and within 15 minutes of the auto driver dropping him off at the incident location, the accused returned to Santhekatte.
Speaking with the media, the auto driver, Shyam Nejar, said, "I dropped him off at the house. He was wearing a mask on his face and had a bald head. He even carried a black backpack. Within 15 minutes of dropping him off, he met me again at the Santhekatte auto stand. At that moment, I told him that if he had returned so early, I would have waited for him without knowing anything about the incident. Then he picked another auto and rushed to leave as soon as possible. The second auto driver dropped him off at the Karavali Bypass. The person was speaking Kannada with a Bengaluru accent."
SP forms five teams
Five teams have been formed to investigate the murder in all angles and to trace the accused as soon as possible, the SP Arun Kumar said.
"I will give information as and when there is progress in investigation, " he added.
Meanwhile, the bodies have been shifted to the KMC mortuary. The surviving son of the deceased Haseena has reportedly arrived at Manipal in the evening.
According to the family members, the funeral will take place on November 13 morning after the arrival of the head of the family from abroad.
