Udupi, Nov 13: The MGM College NSS unit and Team fragrance of Humanity celebrated the festival of lights in a unique way. The teams joined hands together to celebrate Deepavali with the KSRTC bus drivers and conductors.
The event took place at Udupi KSRTC bus stand on Monday, November 13 evening.
NSS officer MGM College Suchith Kotian, and Rekha N Chandra distributed sweets to the bus drivers and conductors as part of the Deepavali celebrations.
NSS volunteers lit the Aarathi to the bus drivers and conductors and paid them the respect.
Speaking with Daijiworld.com, Suchith Kotian and Rekha N Chandra said, "Today we are celebrating Deepavali all around us. But there are some individuals who don't have a chance to celebrate the festival with their families. The KSRTC bus drivers and conductors are working even today. In order to enchance their festival celebrations we decided to observe it with them. We distributed sweets to them as a token of our love. National Service Scheme always makes children to think uniquely and this is an ideal way for it."
Student volunteers and others were present on the occasion.
