Mangaluru: Children’s Day celebrated at Carmel School on November 10

Mangaluru, Nov 14: Children’s Day was celebrated at Carmel School on November 10 in all it’s radiance, drive and liveliness. The celebration began in the school auditorium commemorating the 135th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru the late first prime minister of independent India who was known to have been fond of children.

All the children came in their colourful attire and experienced their joy of this day with fun and frolic. The programme began with a prayer service followed by a prayer song. Various intentions for the good health of children were offered to the almighty.

 

The mesmerizing performance of the day were the dances performed by the teachers brought cheer to the students. A comedy skit based on sincerety was enacted by the teachers, brought cheer with value – based message to the students. The greeting song highlighted the beauty of children as they are precious to their teachers.

The students were overwhelmed with the efforts of the teachers and applauded the teachers for their commendable performance. Fun spot entertaining games were conducted for the students by Tr Vidya, which the students enjoyed to the fullest. Prizes, were distributed among the winners. Tr Diana also entertained the students dressed up in attire of Jawaharlal Nehru.

Students were surprised and welcomed her with great enthusiasm and happiness. The programme ended with words of appreciation and gratitude, from the head boy Shaun and asst head boy Joshwin Lobo. Tr Stepney and Tr Anita compeered the programme and Niyathi Kini of grade 10 proposed the vote of thanks.
