MCC Qatar's 'Sambhram-2023' event turns out to be phenomenal, unforgettable

Doha, Nov 15: The highly anticipated event, 'Sambhram-2023,' unfolded on November 10 at the DPS MIS Auditorium in Al Wakrah. This noteworthy gathering was meticulously organized by the Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Doha, Qatar.

As the gates opened, an enthusiastic audience streamed into the venue, creating an atmosphere brimming with energy. The auditorium swiftly reached full capacity, setting the stage for an evening of grandeur. A highlight of the event was the premiere of a comedy play, a first in Qatar, featuring the renowned duo from Daijiworld's ‘Private Challenge’, Walter Nandalike and Tulunada Manikya Aravinda Bolar. The entertainment spectrum expanded further with a mesmerizing live musical performance by accomplished artistes including Prajoth D'Sa, Lavita Lobo, Joel Attur, Roshen Crasta, Sandeep Roche, and Prajwal Fronteiro. The combination of comedic flair and musical talent contributed to an unforgettable evening of cultural enrichment and entertainment.

The programme commenced by gracing with MCC theme song composed by Remy D’Souza Katipalla, and the master of ceremony Reena Castellino unveiled the event with a bang and welcomed the audience. To ice the cake, Hera Pinto compered the extravaganza event with her inimitably unique style.

The entertainment at the dazzling event began with the Lavita Lobo’s resonant voice on ‘Raath Aichi’ followed by Prajoth Dsa’s soulful ‘Jivith Adhurem’ singing. Accompanying them with vibrant music was Ralph Roshen Crasta Bela as lead guitarist, Sandeep Roche on keyboard, Prajwal Fronteiro on trumpet. Next Joel Attur entered the stage and enthralled the audience with his sensational singing ‘Sophia’. The audience was treated with the dynamic duet Lavita Lobo and Prajoth D’Sa’s ‘Uzwad Chondremacho’. Their scintillating music and electrifying beats of the musicians left a mark among the crowd that got them grooving as a couple on the dance floor.

As the passionate singers' captivating songs had the audience humming along, the delightful duo of Daijiworld's ‘Private Challenge’ Walter Nandalike and Tulunada Manikya Aravinda Bolar, made their first debut in Qatar by taking over the stage with their Konkani comedy. The audience broke into laughter at their humorous elements and faultless performance.

Prajoth D’Sa sang his super hit new age Konkani love anthem ‘Tuzo Mog Maka Zala’ for the audience. Love was in the air. The ‘Goenchi Medley’ by Lavita Lobo charmed the audience.

Further, the stage was taken over by Reena Castelino for the formal programme. She extended a heartfelt welcome to the chief guest A P Manikantan; president of the Indian Cultural Centre and main sponsor of the event Micro Health Laboratories; Alka, as the representative; Walter Nandalike, guest of honour, managing director of Daijiworld Private Limited; founder member and advisor of MCC, Jerald D’Mello; and gold sponsor and advisor, Alfred Sequeira. The guests of honour were joined on stage by president Naveen D’Souza and MCC vice president Shameen Lewis. Presenting a bouquet of flower to each guest, MCC executive members greeted them on the dais. Naveen D’Souza, president welcomed the gathering. A P Manikantan, Walter Dsouza Nandalike and Alka addressed the gathering with their valuable thoughts.

The honourable guests, on behalf of MCC Qatar, presented all the artistes with tokens of appreciation. It was followed by staging a felicitation programme to thank all the sponsors and well-wishers for gracing their support.

Renzil D’Souza, the general secretary, offered a vote of thanks to the gathering.

The second half of the event was full of entertainment, featuring the melodic ‘Wilma’ by Joel Attur and the electric ‘Disco Disco’ by Lavita Lobo. The Doha Dance Squad performed their explicit dance moves on stage alongside her and featured in Tulu rib-tickling comedy drama starring Daijiworld's 'Private Challenge' Walter Nandalike and Tulunada Manikya Aravinda Bolar and the magnetic ‘Reggae Medley’ of Prajoth D’Sa. Emerging from the audience, both Prajoth D’Sa and Lavita Lobo sang ‘Chandnyache Rathi’ while the Doha Dance Squad rock and roll on the stage. With live music, Joel Attur, ‘Adanv Bapa’, captivated the audience. Hera Pinto sang ‘Dolo Modilo’ as she took the stage, and the Doha Dance Squad put up a theatrical dance.

The audience is treated to another humorous performance by Daijiworld's ‘Private Challenge’ Walter Nandalike and Tulunada Manikya Aravinda Bolar followed by a felicitation programme for them for being the ‘Covid Warriors’ during the pandemic. An unexpected coronavirus outbreak forced a strict lockdown across the entire country. Under the leadership of Walter Nandalike, Daijiworld TV ‘Naavu Nimmondige’ (We are with you) initiated the campaign during this time, providing grocery kits to more than 6,000 families throughout the united coastal districts to help the less fortunate along with good Samaritans from both India as well as abroad. Meanwhile, Walter Nandalike had initiated a few major programmes with positive messages on television to keep the audience tension-free and happy which included live and recorded shows. ‘Corona Gellona’ (Let's win Corona) became a massive hit. Started on April 14, 2020, the daily LIVE show hosted by Walter completed 150 glorious episodes. Also, the much talked about comedy talk show, 'Private Challenge', he hosted with ace Tulu cine actor Aravind Bolar, quickly became a household name. The weekly show also completed 25 episodes. In general, Walter and the entire Daijiworld media team fought against the deadly coronavirus pandemic physically as well as emotionally.

Prajoth D’Sa sang the audience's favourite and all-time hit song ‘Udi Udi’, accompanied by the Doha Dance Squad's mesmerising dance. Vijaya D’Souza, a resident of Qatar and the winner of Gulf Baila Dance Competition choreographed the Doha Dancing Squad.

The incredible live music by Roshen Crasta, Sandeep Roche, and Prajwal Fronteiro, as well as the nonstop baila by Joel Attur, Lavita Lobo, and Prajoth D’Sa, brought the Sambhram-2023 to a spectacular end. The MCC executive committee members and advisors, as well as the audience, were unable to contain their enthusiasm and danced nonstop.

Fantastic and timely synchronized background music was by Roshen Crasta, Sandeep Roche, and Prajwal Fronteiro and overall coordination of the event was handled by Hera Pinto and Reena Castelino.

Overall, the audience had an enjoyable evening at the event; there was constant laughter, clapping, and singing throughout the packed auditorium. Impressive performances, clever comedic timing, strong message delivery, and audience engagement won over hearts. The organizers were overwhelmed with the support from the audience. The event had created tremendous applaud among the Konkani drama and music lovers, audiences and created a wave of multicultural fan base of the artistes. A houseful audience of 850 witnessed the show and slated the show to be a mega-hit with an upbeat positive response from the audiences and sponsors towards the event. The show ended up with the best note for each person who attended.
