Mangaluru, Nov 17: St Aloysius Gonzaga School joyously celebrated Children’s Day, coinciding with Deepavali on November 15.
The festivities began with a symbolic lamp lighting, representing the illumination of knowledge, followed by a creative welcome dance by teachers. Priya Serrao elucidated the day's significance, focusing on children’s rights, education, and welfare.
Teachers' musical talents took centre stage, featuring soulful solos and lively performances. The stage came alive with diverse dance styles, entertaining students while conveying instructive and meaningful messages with educational significance.
Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, the principal, greeted students with a thought-provoking message, expressing good wishes, blessings, and urging earnest pursuit of goals while remaining faithful to parents, teachers, and society.
The vice-principals Laurel D’Souza and Aparna Suresh, along with parent teacher executive committee members were present. The event concluded with words of appreciation and gratitude from head boy Chinmay and school head girl Gianna. In a concise, yet impactful manner, the celebration highlighted the essence of children’s day and deepavali.
