Udupi: Guest lecture on Girish Karnad’s play 'Hayavadana' held at St Mary’s College

Udupi, Nov 17: St Mary’s College, Department of English, in association with its IQAC, organised a guest lecture on Girish Karnad’s play Hayavadana for the second-year BCom students on Friday November 17.

Sojan K G, associate professor, Dr G Shankar Government Women's First Grade College & PG Study Centre, Ajjarkad, Udupi and the Secretary of Association of English Teachers (AET) Mangalore University was the resource person. In his lecture, he spoke about the play's narration, plot, and the theme of incompleteness and the conflict between the body and the soul.

The programme, presided by Dr Herald Ivan Monis, principal St Mary’s College Shirva, in his presidential remarks, said that students should adopt reading habits to enhance their language skills. Kostyanv Gonsalvis, head, department of English, Jagadeesh Acharya, IQAC coordinator, Chaitanya, and Albert of II BCom class representatives were present.

Livia welcomed the gathering, Rickson proposed a vote of thanks, and Rakshatha compered the programme.
