Mangaluru: YIASCM conducts crash course sessions on Data Interpretation, ICT

Mangaluru, Nov 18: The KSET/NET/JRF 2023 crash course sessions on Data Interpretation, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Higher Education System was held at the Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), Kulur, by YEN-REFINED on November 18.

Dr Jeevan Raj, vice principal, YIASCM marked his presence in the session and emphasized the need to combine expert assistance and self-determination in pursuing one's objectives in his introductory remarks. He highlighted the importance of utilizing the expertise and support provided by instructors while simultaneously acknowledging the indispensable element of personal dedication and hard work in achieving one's aspirations. The resource person for the morning session was Dr Abhishek, Institute of Management and Commerce, Srinivas University, Mangaluru.

 

Dr Niyaz Panakaje, coordinator of YEN-REFINED welcomed the resource person. In his welcome address, he urged the participants to learn the significance of Data Interpretation, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and higher education systems to qualify for the competitive exams. He also pondered on the strategic implementation to better understand the concepts. 

In the first session, the resource person Dr Abhishek skilfully explained how conclusions can be drawn through common sense without any complicated calculation. Further, Dr Abhishek provided an extensive overview of ICT by elaborating on important abbreviations, email terminology, mobile terminology, and many more, and also detailed the participants with ICT and governance. In addition, the resource person considerately discussed the pre and post-independence educational system. Participants were highly enlightened by the session as it uncovered the complexities involved in the simple units.

The resource person for the afternoon session was Dr Abdul Razak, assistant professor, Dr G Shankar Government Women’s College, Udupi. He took the session on the topic ‘Mathematical and Logical Reasoning'. Dr Abdul Razak tactfully revealed the simplicity behind complicated mathematical and logical reasoning calculations.  The resource person captivated the audience with his magical presentation of fractions, time and distance, ratio, proportion and percentage, profit and loss, interest and discounting, averages, and other mathematical aptitude concepts. Dr Abdul Razak’s ability to blend entertainment and solving problems into a seamless experience left a lasting impression on the aspirants. 

Dr Niyaz Panakaje, co-ordinator, Yen-Refined, in his closing remarks, requested the participants to make the best use of the KSET/NET/JRF 2023 crash course sessions to meet the minimum eligibility criteria to excel in the academic profession. Lastly, the session concluded with vote of thanks.
