Mangaluru, Nov 20: Adani Owned Adani Power Limited – Udupi TPP, which is operating thermal power plant in Yellur village, Kaup Taluk, Udupi District, inaugurated the developed infrastructure works worth Rs 16 lacs, executed under the aegis of Adani Foundation in the limits of Tenka gram panchayat in Kaup Taluk of Udupi District.
Tenka grama panchayat had given the action plan to UPCL for concreting of 80 metres length of Fisheries road, 760 metres length of Poondadu road and construction of compound wall for the crematorium. Accordingly, these works were taken-up and executed by Adani Foundation under its CSR at a cost of Rs 16.25 lacs. The facilities were inaugurated by Kishore Alva, president & executive director of Adani Group and Surekha, president of Tenka gram panchayat.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishore Alva informed that every year UPCL is incurring Rs. 3 crores towards CSR works in the field of Education, Health and Community Infrastructure Development Works. Nearly Rs. 1.10 crores are earmarked solely for infrastructure development works in 7 gram panchayats and the infrastructure development works are being executed as per the annual action plan submitted by individual gram panchayats. He further told that Adani UPCL is committed to undertake infrastructure development works worth Rs 2.56 crores solely in Tenka gram panchayat limits, against which nearly Rs 1.62 crores worth development works have been completed and unveiled for the usage by Society. In this Financial Year, Adani Foundation is in process of executing infrastructure works worth Rs 15 lacs in Tenka villages.
Surekha, president of Tenka gram panchayat, thanked Adani UPCL for extending the CSR facilities to the villages of Tenka GP.
Gayathri, secretary of Tenka gram panchayat, Santosh, Balachandra, Jayashree, members of Tenka GP and UPCL’s AGM Ravi R Jere, Adani Foundation’s Anudeep, were present during the inaugurations.
