New Delhi, Sep 1: Shehla Masood, an RTI activist from Bhopal was shot dead outside her residence on August 16, but police are yet to crack the case.
Though police have interrogated several people including some top political brasses, no effective evidence has been found.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay who reportedly spoke over 40 minutes on the phone with Shela will be the latest politician to be questioned by the MP police. The police have already arrived at New Delhi in this connection.
Tarun Vijay, however, denied any involvement in the murder.
Earlier, the police also quizzed BJP MLA Dhruv Narayan Singh, son of the late former chief minister Govind Narayan Singh and Indore inspector general P Srivastava in connection with the case .
Shehla's father told a TV channel, "See the September 5 issue of Outlook weekly. Shehla named a lot of politicians and officials in the article. The MP police will not touch the higher officials here. A lot of big names are involved in this case, be it political figures or mining mafia. I just hope that evil forces don't jeopardise the case."
The Madhya Pradesh government recommended a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in the case.
