Mangaluru: Padma Shri Harekala Hajabba honoured on flight by Air India Express

Mangaluru, Nov 23: Padma Shri recipient Harekala Hajabba, more known as ‘Akshara Santha’, was honoured and praised by the staff of Air India Express onboard a flight to Dammam to partake in a programme organized by Hidaya Foundation, Jubail unit.

Hajabba was travelling from Mangaluru to Dammam. The staff of Air India Express who recognized Hajabba, brought the same to the notice of the captain of the flight.

The captain of the flight introduced Hajabba to the passengers and said, “We are proud that Padma Shri awardee Harekala Hajabba who has served the education sector immensely is flying in our aircraft. We offered our heartiest congratulations to him.”

    Really thank Congress Government for recognizing his contributions and awarding Padma Shri. He started his journey many years ago but it took that many years to be recognized for this culminating in Ram Nath Kovind awarding him this Padma Shri award.

    No single words for Nejar killings by Air India for their staff both victims and killer, now trying to patch work. Hajabba travelled many times in Air India after Padma Shri..! Timings of honour tells many things.

    Amazing guy; he used to sell fruits carrying on his head in a basket near bustand. He built a school from his savings and with the help of locals.
