Mangaluru, Nov 23: The zonal office of the Bank of Baroda celebrated ‘Kannada Rajyotsava’ with great enthusiasm and grandeur. The distinguished chief guest for the event was Dr S Krishnamurthy, an emeritus professor. In his insightful address, Dr Krishnamurthy emphasized the richness of Kannada language literature and urged everyone to preserve their mother tongue for the benefit of the next generation. He also encouraged the audience to embrace linguistic diversity by learning different languages, highlighting the unique importance of each regional language.
Gayatri R, the head of the zonal office, echoed this sentiment, pointing out that with more than a thousand languages in our country, it is feasible to learn a new language in just three months by efficiently managing time amidst our daily responsibilities. The welcome address was delivered by M Shivprasad Venkat, the head of the regional office.
The event saw active participation from a large number of staff members who joined in the festivities. The programme commenced with the dignitaries lighting the traditional Kannada lamp, symbolizing the spirit of the occasion. It included a series of activities such as prayers, speeches, and the distribution of certificates to the winners. The celebration concluded with the rendition of the national anthem, creating a sense of unity and patriotism among the participants. The entire event served as a testament to the bank's commitment to cultural diversity and community engagement.
