Bantwal: Rider injured in truck-two wheeler collision – Fleeing driver caught by police

Bantwal, Nov 24: A truck collided with a two wheeler at BC Road on national highway and escaped from the spot. The driver was apprehended by traffic policeman on duty.

The truck collided with scooter of Giriappa Moolya Jarandagudde at Kaikunje Cross of BC Road. The scooter fell on the road due to the impact of the collision. Giriappa was injured and admitted to hospital. As the public were watching, the truck driver escaped from the spot.

Traffic policeman Raju Poojary was on duty at BC Road point. The public brought the matter to his notice. He chased the truck and took the driver into custody at Bastipadpu.

A case in this connection is registered in Melkar traffic police station.

    Good job, well done sir, make law strictly like a gulf countries, so india will be develop very soon. Hit and run ,give them lifelong imprisonment or cancel his vehicle and license until 5 years. Please tighten your rules and laws as per gulf countries, so india citizen will be afraid. Make separate path for bike and cycle riders. Do not allow heavy trucks on duty hours, keep limit, keep control. Please do not allow free scheme for ladies between 7 Am to 5 Pm. Give chance to our children to travel by bus without any difficulties. Good luck india. Stay safe.

    If the helmet on the vehicle belongs to the rider why is he using a plastic helmet???? Not bothered about safety???? Lorry driver fleeing is not acceptable and very good he was apprehended
