Udupi, Nov 24: Former minister V Sunil Kumar and district superintendent of police Dr Arun Kumar got into a heated argumentat the KDP meeting held here on Friday, November 24. who issued the notice when the lorry went on strike
Sunil Kumar raised his voice againt the SP over the notice the latter had issued to the protestors during the recent truckers' strike in Udupi.
Expressing his rage during the meeting the former minister and current MLA said, "How do you decide on how someone should protest? Everyone has a right to protest in a democratic system. Please elaborate on the rules to protest. Do you expect us sit at home and do bhajan when there is a need to protest. You please clarify on how we should protest in our district."
Enraged over Sunil Kumar's tone, SP Dr Arun Kumar retorted strongly and hit back strongly at the MLA. The SP reacted, " I will only act according to the law."
The war of words went on for a few minutes before district in-charge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar intervened. She consoled MLA Sunil Kumar and told the SP, "Enough is enough. This is too much."
