Udupi, Nov 24: Former minister V Sunil Kumar and district superintendent of police Dr Arun Kumar got into a heated argumentat the KDP meeting held here on Friday, November 24. who issued the notice when the lorry went on strike

Sunil Kumar raised his voice againt the SP over the notice the latter had issued to the protestors during the recent truckers' strike in Udupi.

Expressing his rage during the meeting the former minister and current MLA said, "How do you decide on how someone should protest? Everyone has a right to protest in a democratic system. Please elaborate on the rules to protest. Do you expect us sit at home and do bhajan when there is a need to protest. You please clarify on how we should protest in our district."

Enraged over Sunil Kumar's tone, SP Dr Arun Kumar retorted strongly and hit back strongly at the MLA. The SP reacted, " I will only act according to the law."

The war of words went on for a few minutes before district in-charge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar intervened. She consoled MLA Sunil Kumar and told the SP, "Enough is enough. This is too much."

The SP should not attend such meetings -- politicians can crow from roof tops -- SP is to ensure administration -- law and order -- THE MLA is behaving as though he is fighting the British -- colonial -- all drama for his select audience --

SP is doing a commendable job in the case of Chougule. We now have come to believe that if we feel jealous, we do not stop until 4 innocent lives are put to waste. Kudhos to MLA Sunil Kumar for taking the SP to task. Most importantly, SP can issue notice, but you can also be held accountable for issuing wrong notice (if it was wrong) only on a future date. But in that instant when the wrong notice is issued, the damage is done if it was due to wrong judgement. There is nothing wrong in hearing out and being balanced with your answer than stating I will act by law which you should anyway.

Dr Arun kumar is a man of high discipline. He acts according to the law and not his mind or heart .what Mr Kumar says has no meaning . Let the MLA put forward his observations in the SP,s letter about what went wrong in letter .
