Ghastly accident at Kunigal: Philip Lobo , Kishan Shetty returning after B'luru Kambala killed

Bengaluru, Nov 26: Two persons were killed and three seriously injured when the car in which they were travelling back to Mangaluru after partaking in the Bengaluru Kambala was hit by a truck in the early hours of Sunday, November 26 at Kottagere Hobali Chiganipalya village on State Highway 33.

The deceased are identified as Kishan Shetty (20), a native of Mooduperara, Bajpe in Mangaluru and Philip Marie Lobo (32), resident of Bhattara Thota, Ammunje village in Bantwal taluk. Ammunje residents Nitish Bhandari, Preeti Lobo and Harish are seriously injured and are being treated at the Adichunchanagiri Hospital.

The deceased were returning to Mangaluru after watching Kambala in Bengaluru when a borewell truck that was going towards Tumkur from Kunigal rammed into their car.

Reportedly, the car which was supposed to go to Mangaluru from Nelamangala via Kunigal took the wrong route and went towards Tumkur. Later while driving from Kunigal to Mangaluru via Hebbur route, the borewell lorry collided with it.

Philip Marie Lobo and Preeti Lobo were married only eight months ago. The deceased, Kishan Shetty, was a relative of Nitish Bhandari and had gone to Bengaluru with his Bantwal friends to watch Kambala. Kunigal police said that the injured are being treated in the intensive care unit. Due to the severity of the incident, the car is completely crushed.

The Kunigal police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

    Destony or bad luck?Sad to hear this .Heartfelt sympathy to the family.May their souls rest in Peace.Only to see the kambala go to Bangalore?very sad .Recently married couple went to Bangalore,now one is serious other is no more.Hard to digest.May God give them enough courage to bear their Pain to the family.
