Kasargod: Annual day celebration of Kayyar church held, new project flagged off

Kasargod, Nov 27: Annual day celebration of Kayyar Christ the King church and new church project inauguration was held on Sunday.

Solemn mass was held at the grounds of the church on the evening of Sunday. The mass was led by Msgr Maxim Noronha, vicar general of Mangalore Diocese. He was accompanied by Fr Vishal Moniz, parish priest of Kayyar church and Fr Claude Korda, parish priest of Permude. After the mass Eucharistic procession was held.

In the stage programme that was held after the mass, new church project was inaugurated. The programme was presided over by Msgr Maxim Noronha. Former MLA of Mangaluru South J R Lobo, entrepreneur and philanthropist Naveen Ranjit D’Souza, Fr Vishal Moniz, superior of Vijaya Jesuraj convent Sr Jasmine Lewis, vice president of pastoral council Roshan D’Souza, secretary Zeena D’Souza, Ashika D’Souza and panchayat member Avinash Machado were present.

Msgr Maxim Noronha released the copy of Novena to Christ the King prayer for the success of the project. J R Lobo inaugurated the fund collection and Naveen Ranjit D’Souza released the card that contains comprehensive details of the project.

Msgr Maxim Noronha gave away prizes for the winners of elocution competition that was held by Catholic Sabha.

Fr Vishal Monis welcomed the gathering. Roshan D’Souza rendered vote of thanks. Jostel D’Souza compered the event.
