Mangaluru, Nov 27: The Confraternity Sunday was celebrated with devotion and joy on November 26 at St Joseph the Worker Church, Neermarga.
The traditional Confraternity Sunday was observed with High Mass and Eucharistic devotion. Fr Anil Alfred D’Souza, director of family commission was the main celebrant and con-celebrant was Fr Paul Pinto, parish priest.
Fr Anil Alfred in his homily elucidated the theme saying that through Eucharistic-centered families, the parish community is not only revitalized spiritually but also becomes a beacon of love and support, radiating the transformative power of the Eucharist to the broader world.
The Eucharistic adoration was held at the end of the ceremony. The Eucharistic celebration was followed by the procession of Blessed Sacrament from Neermarga church to Carmel Ashram AC, where a large number of devotees took part in it. The musical band, the melodious choir, the prayerful singing of the parishioners, the children dressed in all white and the colourful decoration added magnificence to the entire celebration. Overall, the confraternity procession was a visually and emotionally impactful expression of religious commitment and community solidarity, reinforcing the sense of shared values and faith among the participants.
At the end of the procession, a solemn Eucharistic benediction was given as the final blessing.
Also prize distribution ceremony was carried out for the winners of slogan contest on 'Drug abuse awareness' and various competitions held by parish bulletin ‘Neermarchi Nader’.
