Bengaluru: Graduation Day held at BMS Institute of Technology and Management

Bengaluru, Nov 27: BMS Institute of Technology and Management, Yelahanka on November 25 celebrated its first Graduation Day after getting the autonomous status from VTU. A total of 54 students received the MCA degree certificates. Six ranks were announced for the top achievers. Franklin Dalmet secured gold medal, Jyosthna M H silver medal and Amrutha L bronze medal are the top 3 rank holders.

Col Shankar H S, a Vishishta Seva Medal winner, graced the occasion with his motivational speech. Col Shankar is also an alumni of BMS College of Engineering, Basavanagudi, sister institute of BMSIT. Col Shankar in his speech motivated students to hone R&D and leadership skills. He said, “Irrespective of the work domain these skills are very important. R&D is throwing lot of opportunities in various domains. He said that, one can draw inspiration from Sir M Vishweshwaraiah, Sir CV Raman, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam to pursue R&D in your chosen domain. At the same time, if you are looking at leadership qualities, there are great leaders like Field Marshal Col Kariappa, Field Marshal Col Manek shaw who have shown great leadership skills in encouraging their colleagues and leading their teams to achieve greater things.” Col Shankar said that everyone should put their hands together to realize the dream of Prime Minister Modi, Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Chairman of BMSIT, Aviram Sharma congratulated all the graduates for coming out with flying colors after finishing their MCA degree and for securing more than 90% of placements. He said that students should always remember the support extended by their teachers, supporting staff and parents in shaping their career. He motivated students and said, students should bring laurels to their college, country and should make their parents proud by greatly contributing to the overall growth of the country.

Principal BMSIT Dr Mohan Babu GN presented a brief report about the college and said that BMSIT is having quality experienced staff with more than 75% of them having PhD degree tells the kind of importance given for teaching and learning activities at BMSIT. He congratulated all the students, faculty and staff for helping the institution to recognize itself as one of the premier engineering colleges in the country.

Vice principal Dr Anil GN, dean planning & development Dr P Ganesh, dean student welfare Dr Ambika R, dean career guidance Dr Manjunath TN, controller of examinations Dr Hanumantharaju and others were present.
