Mangaluru: Head constable Girish Suvarna Bengre wins 4 medals at national masters swimming contest

Mangaluru, Nov 27: Girish Suvarna Bengre of Mangaluru won four medals including a gold medal in the national-level Masters Swimming Competition held from November 24 to 26 by the Swimming Federation of India (SFI) in the newly constructed Smart City swimming pool at Yemmekere in the city

Suvarna who represented Karnataka state in the 19th National Masters Swimming Competition also represented Mangaluru. He won the gold in 50 metres freestyle competition and silver medals in 50 metres backstroke, 100 metres freestyle and a bronze medal in 4 x 50 metres medley competition taking his tally to a total of four medalsm bringing glory to the district and the state.

Girish Suvarna Bengre is a member of Mangala Swimming Club and a regular practitioner at the Mangaluru City Corporation swimming pool. Currently, he is serving as a head constable in the police department in Mangaluru.
