Mumbai,Sep 3: Now it is time for Bollywood’s ever-so-colourful Govinda to be in trouble. According to reports, Govinda’s brother-in-law(BIL) Praveen Khanna has filed a complaint at the Khar police station against him for being a threat to his life.

Praveen who was married to Govinda’s elder sister Kamini, was reportedly threatened by the actor following a heated argument between the two over a finanacial disagreement at Indian Motion Pictures’ Producers Association (IMPPA) meeting in Palinaka recently.

In his complaint, Khanna claimed, “Govinda abused me in the filthiest language and pushed aside the committee members. He tried to hit me with a water bottle and threw a plate full of sandwiches at me.” Also Khanna added that Govinda threatened to kill him.

A police official said, “It has been registered as a non-cognizable offence pending further inquiry.” He further added, “The complainant alleged that in 2003, Govinda had promised to work in one of his movies, but he later refused causing him financial loss. During the meeting, this issue came up and an argument broke out between the two.”

As per tabloids, ever since 1996 when Khanna launched his film ‘Dil Laga Ke Dekho’ with Govinda in the lead role, there has been a tiff between the two due to some financial disputes. Govinda had  refused to complete the shoot, and ultimately the film was shelved in 2003.

But the issue had not closed right there. In 2009, Khanna filed a case against the actor with IMPAA. However, Govinda never turned up for hearings until last week, when the alleged incident took place.

However, Govinda’s secretary said, “Yeh insaan (Khanna) jooth bol raha hai. He is the one who started abusing Govinda and accused him of cheating,.”

Govinda’s daughter, Narmmadaa, too, said, “Don’t pay heed to what that man is saying, woh aadmi kuchh bhi bolta hai.”
Khanna’s daughter, Ragini, a well-known TV personality, refused to comment.

Govinda himself denied all such allegations. Govinda denies allegations claiming to be a victim of conspiracies.

He said, “I have given the answer in written and when he felt there was no substance in his allegations, then he unsuccessfully tried to defame me and even tried to lodge a case against me."
