Mangaluru, Nov 29: St Mary's High School organized the annual sports meet on November 27 at Mangala stadium. The event began with guard of honour to the esteemed Lt Col Gracian Sequeira Administrative officer 18 Karnataka Battalion the chief guest of the day.

The chief guest received the salute from the marching teams and hoisted the school flag. Event continued with a prayer song led by the school choir followed by welcome dance by the students and drill display. After the lighting of the sports torch and oath taking the chief guest addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to cultivate determination and courage to achieve their goal by quoting his own life incident.

Clarissa Monteiro was honoured for her achievements in weight lifting and shot put in open tournament at the state level. After a short break various track and field events were conducted and winners were honoured. Arathi Deeraj PTA vice president was the guest at the closing ceremony of the annual athletic meet. She distributed individual championship and squad championship prizes. The day was filled with sportsmanship spirit, achievement and memories to cherish.
