Brahmavar, Nov 30: The AICS Volleyball Tournament SERVE SMART was conducted on Nov 29 at SMS English Medium School( CBSE) Brahmavar. James Oliver, retired Physical Education Director, Pompei College, Aikala was the chief guest for the program and inaugurated the tournament.

The school Principal, Abhilasha, accorded the words of welcome. The chief guest, in his address, emphasized the importance of sports and need of the qualities of true sportsmanship. 69 teams from 21 schools of Udupi district participated in the tournament.

The school correspondent, Fr MC Mathai spoke in the valedictory function and motivated the students by saying " It is very much natural to win or lose. Being the sports persons we must accept the both in the same spirit. When we have determination and dedication we will definitely be successful. Let us have more and more such players amongst us" .

General Secretary of OSC Educational Society, Alan Rohan Vaz, School Secretary, Louis Fernandes, PTA President, Jayalaxmi Hatwar, School Treasurer, Steevan Rodrigues, Founding Committee member Gilbert Rodrigues, College Secretary Alwares D'Silva distributed Trophies and certificates to all the winners. Pramila D'Souza, the Vice Principal proposed Vote of thanks.The programme was compered by Pushpa Rao and Shakunthala.
