Lucknow, Sep 3 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday said the central government was harassing Anna Hazare's associates and it was clear that the Congress will attack "anybody who raises his voice against corruption".
Flaying the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said: ?Action taken by the Congress-led government has proved beyond doubt that this party believes in training its guns against anybody and everybody who raises his voice against corruption.?
Addressing a press conference here, Prasad said: ?It is really shocking the way the central government is going about harassing Anna Hazare and his team, including Arvind Kejriwal, who is now being branded as the biggest law offender.?
?If Kejriwal was such an undesirable person as the central government is now trying to paint him, then why did top Congress ministers invite him for long parleys on the Jan Lokpal Bill?? he asked.
He said that anyone who raises the issue of corruption becomes persona non grata for the Congress leadership.
"This is also happening with Kiran Bedi and Prashant Bhushan," he added.
Prasad was of the view that the various notices issued by different government departments to Team Anna members were simply intended to intimidate them.
?We have seen this happening earlier when Congress leaders initially hailed Baba Ramdev, but the moment he started talking about India?s black money stacked in Swiss banks, he became their target of ridicule and contempt,? he said.
?Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party are part of the same triangle on the issue of corruption,? Prasad added.
