Udupi: Blood Donation Camp held at SMVITM, Bantakal

Udupi, Dec 2: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, National Service Scheme (NSS), Youth Red Cross Wing, Rotaract Club and Red Ribbon Club of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal, Udupi, Indian Red Cross Society, Blood Centre, Kundapura, Department of Health and Family Planning through Prevention of AIDS and Control Unit Udupi, HDFC Bank, Kundapura, jointly organized one-day Voluntary Blood Donation Camp on December 2 in the institute premises.

S Jayakar Shetty, chairman, Indian Red Cross Society Kundapur inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp. Prasanna Kumar, branch operation manager and Prasanna Kumar, HDFC Bank, Kundapura, Shivaram Shetty, treasurer IRCS, Kundapura, Purushotham Nayak, Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice principal, SMVITM, Bantakal, Dr Suraj, director Dept. of MBA and other officials from Indian Red Cross Society, Udupi, Nagaraja Rao NSS-YRC unit coordinator; Departmental coordinators, Dean, HODs, Faculty, Staff, Office bearers and members of NSS-YRC-RC Unit were present during the inaugural function.

Chitkala, 2 nd year CSE invoked the blessings from the Almighty. Adithya Prakash of final year ECE welcomed the gathering, Ramya Deshpande compeered the program, Chandana proposed vote of thanks. More than 100 Volunteers, including faculty, staff and students of SMVITM and public had donated blood and with a total of 95 units of blood collected at the camp.
