Beltangady, Dec 2: Annual Day, a celebration of a year's journey of Holy Redeemer School, was held on November 29 in the church grounds with grandeur.
School pupil leader Dhravya Bhandary of class 10 welcomed the guests with the school band led by Jevita Rodrigues of class 9.
Fr Walter D'Mello, correspondent of Holy Redeemer Institutions presided over the celebration. Ronald Silvan D'Souza, founder and executive director of Leksa Lighting Technologies Pvt Ltd was the chief guest. Walter Monis, vice president of parish pastoral council, Gilbert Pinto, secretary of parish pastoral council, Pauline Rego, coordinator of parish commissions, Renny Vas, headmistress of church higher primary school and Supriya D'Souza, vice president of PTA were the guests of honour.
The celebration began by a solemn prayer dance by students of class 10.
Fr Clifford Simon Pinto welcomed the gathering wholeheartedly.
Assistant headmistress Blendin Rodrigues proudly presented the annual school report. School events and activities were wonderfully compiled with a video presentation by teacher Pallavi.
Toppers of SSLC 2022-23 State board exam were felicitated. Academic toppers of 2022-23 from UKG to class 9 were honoured.
Alston D'Silva who secured third place, Veona Rego and Shreyas who participated in district level athletic meet were honoured.
Squad champions trophy bagged by Red squad students this year was presented to the squad leaders and mentors.
Headmaster presented a token of gratitude to all the generous sponsors and to all guests.
Trainers of various school activities were also honoured.
Teacher Anitha proposed the vote of thanks pleasantly and the formal programme was beautifully compered by teacher Preetha D'Souza.
Cultural events this year had a theme of 'Light of moral values to life' synching with the school motto, 'Light to Life'.
All students from the lower most playschool to the higher most class 10, gave vibrant and mesmerizing performances.
The cultural events were filled with versatile dances, drama, singing, music, art, karate, stunts and pyramids.
The talents, hardwork, dedication and enthusiasm of all staff and students were well highlighted.
Raaiz Razak and Rishel Bennis of class 10 hosted the cultural event skilfully under the guidance of Preetha D'Souza.
The event was concluded in a meaningful way by the school choir singing the school anthem.
