Karnataka govt yet to give honorarium to kin of Capt Pranjal: BJP MP Tejasvi Surya

Bengaluru, Dec 2 (IANS): BJP Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya on Saturday slammed the Congress government in Karnataka as it is yet to provide a respectful honorarium to the family of Captain M.V. Pranjal who was killed during an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on November 22.

Taking to the social media, Surya, who is also National President for BJP Yuva Morcha, said, "It's been 10 days since Capt Pranjal attained martyrdom in service of our nation. Yet the State government has not provided a respectful honorarium to the kin of the departed soul. They are not even contacted in this regard."

While no compensation can bring back Captain Pranjal, and as usual media focus moves to other issues, it's important that his parents are provided adequate support through these tough times, he said.

"I request CM Siddaramaiah and DyCM D.K. Shivakumar not to delay it and immediately issue Rs 50 lakh compensation to Captain Pranjal's parents.

"Putting yourself in line of fire at a young age of 29, and making the ultimate sacrifice, is a heroic act that will inspire every generation," Surya stated.

"To not limit our tributes to Capt Pranjal to a single day, and to allow youngsters to keep drawing inspiration from his memory, I request CM Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar to name Jigani Main Road in Captain Pranjal's name. It will be a small yet lasting tribute to honour Captain Pranjal's sacrifice," he said.

Tejasavi is unaware of procedures to follow when large payments are to be made, the Government is working on the modalities in honouring the services of a brave soldier. Tejasavi has forgotten the Photo’Op drama created by a BJP MP recently in the North, wherein he was slammed Right Royal by the wife and family of another brave warrior killed alongside Capt. Pranjal. Tejasavi who made a back door entry as an MP did not win on merit but by piggybacking the then sympathy wave in his constituency— death of a popular BJP leader. Tejasavi now surviving on on sycophancy and fault finding. The immature youngster has a lot of learning to do.

The BJP union government controls the army. Surya is obviously ignorant of federalism. He should criticize Shah, Modi and the BJP.

First of all May this brave man’s soul rest in peace. Don’t play politics with this brave man’s sacrifice . Compensation in these cases paid by central government through the army. Speak to your ministers in Delhi and organise it.

You are rite Mr .Tejasvi Surya. You should also ask central government to grant compensation to Captain Pranjal's parents and name any port or airport in his name. By the way he was fighting for India.

Why can't you request your Modi sarkar. Karnataka Govt will do its part and your expert opinion is not required. Your same BJP members are only expert in changing names of roads and structures.

What is the hurry for this young MP? It looks like the sky will come down for him. State Government will surely do what is needful you need not be so impatient so far the Central Government and the defense might have already given the needful to the family, the family is not only dependent on the state Government's honorarium. Let the MP do his job in his constituency.
