Mangaluru: 'Kudla Runs for No Drugs' marathon concludes with enthusiastic participation

Mangaluru, Dec 3: The valedictory ceremony of the marathon organized by Fr Muller Medical College, St Joseph Engineering College, and Lourdes Central School, in collaboration with SJEC Alumni Association, SJEC Foundation, Diocesan Commission for Health, and We Are Cycling, took place at Father Muller Medical College ground on Sunday, December 3, under the theme 'Kudla Runs for No Drugs.'

The event comprised a fun run, 5K run, 15K run, and cyclothon, aimed at raising awareness and promoting a drug-free lifestyle. Winners of the marathon, contributing to this noble cause, were honored with cash prizes, forming a total prize money pool of Rs 3 lakhs.

DCP Law and Order Siddarth Goyal graced the occasion as the chief guest, distributing prizes to the winners. Expressing his pride in being associated with the marathon, Goyal commended the participants for sprinting towards a safer and healthier Mangaluru and delivering a powerful message to overcome the challenge of drug abuse.

Father Muller Medical College Administrator, Fr Ajith B Menezes, proposed the vote of thanks during the ceremony.

The event was attended by Director of St Joseph Engineering College, Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, principal of Lourdes Central School, Fr Robert D' Souza, dean of Father Muller Medical College, Dr Anthony Sylvan D'Souza, principal of St Joseph Engineering College, Dr Rio D'Souza, SJEC Faculty Vinuthan, and others.

The marathon kicked off from St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor (15K Run – open for all), Lourdes Central School (5K Run – age-wise category for men and women), and Fr Muller Medical College campus (Fun Run 2K Run – open for all). The concluding point was at Father Muller Medical College Ground for all categories.
