Dubai, Dec 5: The much-awaited cultural extravaganza, ‘Rock N’ Laugh’ is ready to set the stage on fire.
The highlights of the entertainment at the dazzling event will be Private Challenge-Bolar v/s Nandalike duo live performance and Anil D’Sa, Pangla live musical along with renowned artistes from UAE.
The event will be held at Movenpick Hotel, Oud Metha Ballroom, Dubai on Sunday, December 10, 11 am onwards organized by United Pangalites (UPA) in association with Tru Events.

For the first time in Dubai Live performance from the famous Jodi of Daijiworld TV’s most popular programme Private Challenge duo Walter Nandalike & Aravind Bolar will sure to entertain audience with their rib tickling comedy.
The much-awaited mega event, ‘Rock N’ Laugh’ will be compered by Roshan D’Silva, Vamanjoor. Roshan's skills as a compere further underscore his commanding presence. With an engaging and vibrant stage presence, he effortlessly guides events, seamlessly connects with the audiences and creates an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation. He has won the first prize in inter-parish allocation contest organized by Konkani Natak Sabha and Catholic Sabha.
Roshan has strong MC skills by hosting in big reality shows such as, 1st Gulf Baila contest organized by MCC Doha as well as Gulf Voice of Mangalore and Golden Voice of UAE singing contests. Also, he has a proven track record of hosting in many other musical concerts/Nites like Lorna, Nihal Tauro, Melwyn Peris, Maxim Pereira, Nephi Rod, Anthony Tauro, Henry Dsouza, Vincent Fernandes Cassia, Lancy Noronha, Norbert Pereira etc. He has hosted many popular events in India, UAE, Doha, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait that has created an unforgettable event atmosphere.
About Anil D’sa, Pangla
The event promises an enthralling experience for its audience, with a musical treat featuring the sensational ‘Anil D’Sa Live’ for the first time in GCC. With his mesmerizing vocals, Anil D’Sa is set to captivate the attendees.
Anil D’Sa, popularly known as Anil Pangla, Mariyola Fame, was born in Shankerpura. He completed his basic education in Shankerpura and Shirva. He is a Diploma holder in Electrical field. He started his career by initially working in Muscat for few years & later settled down in Pangla to take over the family business-Anil Sounds, Anil Caterers and Varun Electricals.
Regarding his singing career, he has sung in more than 150 Konkani albums, both devotional and romantic songs. He has also presented 3 musical nites, one in Kalaangann and two in Pangla. Also, as a singer, he has performed in various musical nites, which includes, Mand Sobhan. He has rendered his musical mesmerising voice in Fr Valerian Mendonca’s and Fr Clement Mascarenhas’ devotional musical shows. He has a band by the name, Anil microband where he performs the role both as DJ and singer. Since 2002, he has performed nearly in more than 2000 weddings and other get-togethers.
Currently, he is the president of Parichaya Pamboor and Kalaradhan Pangla, where both organizations organise various cultural programmes year after year.
Anil brings a unique sound that has touched the hearts of listeners worldwide and poised to leave the audience spellbound with his electrifying voice.
Sonam Lotlikar
With her soulful and adaptable voice, Sonam started her singing career at the age of 11. Her journey in the music family began as she bagged third place in the first attempt amongst 350 participants at the All India Bal Kirthi Singing Competition organized in Goa (2000).
Through sheer dedication and consistency, she has participated in more than 150 singing competitions and won the first prize in 80 plus state-level singing competitions. She was also the winner at Shabd Suranchi Sargam organised on Doordarshan and runner-up at Voice of Goa (2005). Having performed in more than 200 live stage shows in Goa and out of Goa, she is known as the Pop singing sensation of Goa.
Her voice is captivating and casts a spell on the listener, honored as a judge at many State level singing competitions especially Lok Utsav Goa and the Golden Voice of Mangalore 2022 (semi-finals). Sonam is the owner of Band De Raaga. From peppy songs to singing many more timeless melodies that tug at the heartstrings of the listeners - Sonam Lotlikar has proved that her place in the world of music is unmovable.
Continuing to be a masterpiece in singing, she is working as a Teacher at Emirates Future.
Aenson Mathias
Aenson Mathias, a versatile singer, hails from Udyavar. Currently he is working as a Safety Officer in Sea Waves Ship Repairs, Fujairah, UAE. He has won the maiden crown of Golden Voice of UAE 2022 men's title as well as he is the 2nd runner up of GVOM 2018 men's title.
Aenson connects well with the audience through his songs. He firmly believes that music is a universal language with no boundaries. Vocally he has a great tone and a great overall performer.
Sabita Mathias
Sabita Maria Mathias is qualified in the field of BE (Electronics and Communications). Her native place is Shirva, but, raised and resides in Udupi. Currently working in Dubai for the last 13 years as Assistant Manager – Flight Management Desk, with National Air Cargo Group Inc dba National Airlines at the Dubai Airport Free zone.
Under the guidance of Vocal Trainer, Joseph Moras (Melodia Voice Studio), Sabita completed her Grade 2 Trinity Vocal Exam. She is the winner of GVOM 2018 Women's Title held in Bahrain. Currently she is also part of the Dubai Jingles Team who collectively sing Christmas carols to bring awareness and raise funds for the unfortunate children suffering from Leukaemia in Dubai.
Regarding her other interests, she has represented Udupi district in junior athletics and junior national volleyball and captained the VTU ladies Volleyball team in the South zone inter-university tournament. Recipient of Best Cadet award of the NCC-Karnataka and Goa contingent and also part of the Mangalorean community ladies volleyball team AB Layton in Dubai. Her hobbies are to read, swim and watch movies.
She proudly mentions that her favourite Konkani song is Dream Boy.
Joseph Mathias
Joseph Mathias, hailing from Bendore, Mangaluru, has pursued his bachelor’s degree. A singer, actor, philanthropist, Joseph Mathias is an entrepreneur and currently managing director of Merit Freight Systems LLC a well-known professional Shipping & Forwarding Company currently operating in Dubai, UK and Mangaluru.
Fondly known as 'Jossy Bab', Joseph Mathias performs singing in most of the programmes of Konkani/Kannada/Tulu Associations in UAE and many other countries. Recently his melodious voice echoed in United Kingdom too. He was identified and honoured with 'Mayura Award' by Sharjah Karnataka Sangha in the year 2016 for his selfless dedication and support to Kannada and Karnataka in this part of the world.
In 2022 he has been chosen for the 'Vishwa Manya Kannadiga' Award by Karnataka Press Council & Kannadigaru Dubai. Joseph Mathias has bagged the most prestigious, "Gulf Karnataka Ratna Award" by Gulf Kannadigas UAE in 2023.
About Melwyn Antony D’Souza (MAD)
Melwyn Antony D’Souza, popularly known as MAD has pursued his degree in Carnatic music, Art & Culture. He is an amazing lead vocalist/composer/lyricts and with his extreme high notes, he is well known to sweep the audience off their seats and bring to the dance floor.
Melwyn is the leader of the band, Bandscape which has renowned musicians. Over the years, he has written amazing lyrics & sung for several projects and jingles.
He is known to lift the mood of the event with his vibrant performance and has been known in his friend’s circle as ‘Rock Star’ who also call him ‘Mika Singh of Konkani’.
About Other Musicians
A bunch of talented musicians from the coast of Mangalore, met on the coast of Dubai, and that's when Bandscape was born. Having a plethora of talent and skill, the band promises to entertain and leave the audience spell bound after any performance.
Darrel Mascarenhas is from Puttur, currently living in Dubai. He has a masters’ degree in sound engineering from Full Sail University (USA). He worked as a music composer and sound designer. Darrel is known for his music and BGM for the superhit Tulu movie ‘Girgit’ and the award winning Konkani album Mog Asom 2 which won the Best Album of the year at World Konkani Music Awards in Goa. Proud to say that Darrel is part of Coastalwood movies. Darrel also won the Best Music Arranger award at Global Konkani Music Awards at Mandd Sobhann. Darrel has worked with several Bollywood singers like Sonu Nigam, Armaan Malik, Mika Singh, Bappi Lahiri, Shreya Ghoshal, Vijay Prakash to mention a few. He is currently working as a senior music composer and sound designer for Bloomberg News.
Patson Pereira, started music career at the age of 8. He initially started performing for various shows as a drummer. Then gradually as a keyboardist and guitarist and later performed for various bands around the Globe. He is also a grade holder in music instruments like guitar, drums and keyboard from Trinity College, London & also worked as a sound engineer on various live shows and studios across the Globe. Patson has been a music director for various movies and albums. He has also rendered his guitar playing to various other movies & album projects. He is a part of Band Charitra and Charitra Productions as a lead guitarist and co-vocalist. Worked as Sound engineer, composer, music director and producer for Bollywood and Sandalwood celebrities like, Armaan Malik, KK, Mohit Chauhan, Shaan, Vikram Montrose, Nakash Aziz, Kunal Ganjawala, Aftab Khan, Shadab Rayeen, Chaitra HG, Guru Kiran, and V Manohar.
Floid Craig Pereira, is an experienced bassist in town. His approach on the bass is technically strong with the grooviest basslines and immense feel. His appearance in the band certainly adds on to the tone of the band. His thick bass tone and slaps fills up the band as a whole.
Prashanth is the leader of Eagles band. Currently, he is managing his business in Kuwait. He is a well-known and fine tune singer among the Konkani speaking people in UAE. Also, he is the composer of album Yo Moga and Tunch Moga.
The event has already created tremendous interest among the Konkani lovers and generated a huge response. This demonstrates the immense love and support towards Konkani art and music and the fan base of the artists.
With just few days to go, and the countdown that has already begun, the artistes are fully ready and excited to entertain all. The artistes are all set up to perform and hit the stage with a massive blast.
The entry passes have already been booked. The organizers have slated the show to be a mega hit with upbeat responses and support that they have received towards the event so far. The fans can expect to discover the best entertainment, tailored to suit their taste.
