Mangaluru, Dec 11: Yenepoya Technology Incubator, an initiative of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, has achieved the prestigious distinction of being awarded the best Incubation Center in the Tier-II city category across India.
This recognition was bestowed by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India.
The award ceremony took place during the esteemed Global Bio-India 2023 event, held from December 4 to 6, at Bharat Manadapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Dr Rajesh S Gokhale (secretary, DBT), Rajesh Kotecha (secretary, Ministry of AYUSH), Dr Jitendra Kumar (MD, BIRAC), Dr Shirshendu Mukherjee (mission director – Grand Challenges India, BIRAC), and Dr Manish Diwan (head, SPED, BIRAC) and other prominent dignitaries graced the ceremony.
This prestigious recognition is a testament to the incubator's exceptional infrastructure and comprehensive ecosystem designed to support innovative solutions across MedTech, Pharma, and Biotechnology fields. From ideation and development to clinical validation and deployment, YTI offers invaluable support to aspiring entrepreneurs and startups. Notably, it boasts state-of-the-art cleanroom facilities for manufacturing medical devices, biomedical implants, and pharmaceutical products including drugs and injectables, ensuring adherence to the highest international quality standards and are ISO 13485 certified.
Yenepoya Technology Incubator's dedication to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship is evident in its impressive track record. To date, it has nurtured over 40 promising startups and facilitated the growth of more than 150 innovators, contributing significantly to a vibrant ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship.
