Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Dec 15: Shareena Y (24), wife of Ahmed Maqsood, and her three-year-old son, Mohammed Tohar, have been reported missing from their residence in K P Nagar, Bajpe village, since December 11 night. A case has been filed with the Bajpe police station on December 13.

Ahmed Maqsood resides with his wife and mother. He married Shareena six years ago, and the couple has a three-year-old son. Shareena is currently five months pregnant. The couple is known to have a cordial relationship.

Late after midnight on December 11, at approximately 2:45 am, Shareena left home with her son. This departure is captured on CCTV in front of their house.

Shareena took her clothes and five grams of gold, leaving a note in Byari language stating that she was going to her mother’s house. However, upon inquiry, Maqsood discovered that Shareena did not reach her mother-in-law's house. Subsequent searches at the homes of relatives and friends yielded no results. Consequently, Maqsood filed a police complaint on December 13.

Shareena is described as five feet and three inches tall with a wheat complexion, round face, and medium build. She can communicate in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Byari, and Hindi languages. She was last seen wearing a white churidar.

Mohammed Tohar is three feet tall with a wheat complexion, round face, and a well-built physique. He was wearing a black t-shirt and cream-colored shorts. He can speak the Byari language.

Now the time to revolutionary change in this community has started. Now no more forceful marriages at age of 18, no more dresscode, should be allowed to choose her own career. Huge respect to such ladies who step up the fight against old thinking Maulvis. Now the society is no more a fool. Even Ayesha and Shabnam deserve to live by their choice. Slowly I can see the blindfold on their women's eyes getting removed. You women deserve more...

Dear Alex, u please dont worry about liberating our women. You shud ponder about why Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world especially western world, out of which most are women. Try to respect our full clothed women with the same respect u give to full clothed nuns

Very mysterious human disappearances are occurring in and around this area! If she had no issues in her marital life then there is no reason why she should leave the house at this unearthly hour along with some gold; hope she doesn't get into some wrong hands from where exit could be very difficult!! BTW, I am reminded of the dean of a reputed college around here who is supposedly missing since nearly two years and many other such cases involving ordinary people, which are quickly erased from public memory!
