Udupi: SMVIT organizes invited talk on occasion of National Energy Conservation Day

Udupi, Dec 15: The department of mechanical and civil engineering of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management in association with Institution’s Innovation Council and ISTE student chapter, has organized an invited talk on ‘Applications, Challenges and Recent Developments in the Utilization of Solar Energy’ on the occasion of the National Energy Conservation Day on December 14.

Dr Arun Kumar H S, senior assistant professor in the department of mechanical and industrial engineering, MIT, Manipal was the resource person of the programme.

 

Dr Arun Kumar H S, in his address, briefed the various applications of solar energy in the engineering field. He explained the various modes of utilizing solar energy and the photovoltaic energy conversion process. Also, he threw light on the challenges and recent developments in the utilization of solar energy.

The students of mechanical and civil engineering attended the programme.

Dr Bharath K Bhat coordinated the programme and Ananth Mallya compered.

The HoD of mechanical engineering Dr Raja Yateesh Yadav and other faculty members were present.
