Mangaluru, Dec 16: First Steps Pre-School, Kudroli, celebrated Fruits Day on Friday December 15 with fun and frolic, with an objective to create awareness among children about the importance of consumption of fruits in regular diet.

‘Fruit is Nature's Candy’, the twinkling stars of kindergarten celebrated Fruits Day by representing the fruits with a dress/chart. Children sang the fruit rhymes with great zest, enthusiasm and vigor, enjoying the moments of joy and happiness in the company of their mates & teachers.

The mentor of the institution Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) Shameer Ahmed was the guest of honour. He stressed the objective of the event to create awareness among children. He also explained the importance of fruits’ intake in their daily diet for mental and physical growth. The tiny tots learned more about the taste, smell, color and texture of each fruit.

Children clearly understood the importance of washing the fruits before eating and also about the benefits of eating fresh fruits.

All the children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive on the fact that fruits are better than junk food.

Dr Hisham S Ahmed, trustee of the institution encouraged the preschool to organize more such events for the well-being of the students. 

The head teacher Himna S Ahmed, staff Raziya, Shehzan and Sufiyan S Ahmed arranged the event in an impressive manner which added feather to the event.

The event magnificently concluded serving fresh watermelon juice and fruit salad for the kids of pre-school.
