Udupi, Dec 19: “Suzlon company which obtained 1,200 acres of land from the government has incurred loss. But the company has sold the land to private parties for hefty prices instead of returning it back to the government. Mass protests will be staged in front of the company on December 23 against the irregularities,” said district Congress president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor.
He was speaking at district Congress Bhavan during the meeting of Congress office bearers.
“Deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar will be participating in the mass public meeting that will be held at Byndoor on December 26. Party activists in the district should take part in it in large numbers,” he requested.
Vinay Kumar Sorake said that the Congress party always responds to the grievances of people. “It holds programmes in this connection. The Parashuram Theme Park scam of Karkala that has hurt the sentiments of Hindus and the case of irregularities in the disposal of scrap at Brahmavar sugar factories are in the investigation stages. Mass movement is scheduled about land deal irregularities by Suzlon company. A movement is being held to make the people aware of all these irregularities of BJP,” he said.
Party leader Prasad Raj Kanchan said that dedicated Congress activist Shruthi has been selected as Congress party candidate for upcoming municipal council byelection for Perampalli ward. “All the activists should work for the victory of the Congress candidate for the all-round development of the ward,” he requested.
