Udupi, Dec 22: Completely renovated ‘Xavier Auditorium’ of St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavar will be inaugurated on December 23.
‘Xavier Auditorium’ situated in the premises of St Francis Xavier Church, Udyavar has been completely renovated and is now ready to serve equipped with modern amenities. The new auditorium is equipped for both AC and non-AC usages. A thanksgiving Mass will also be held ahead of the inauguration at 4.30 pm on December 23.
Fr Stany B Lobo, parish priest, regarding to the newly-renovated auditorium said, “A thanksgiving Mass will be held at 4.30 pm on December 23. Blessing will be performed by Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, bishop of Udupi diocese at 6 pm. U T Khader, speaker Karnataka Legislative Assembly, will be the chief guest of the event. Suresh Shetty Gurme, MLA Kaup, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA, Malathi Sandeep, president Udyavar gram panchayat, Dr Jerry Vincent Dias, promoter Mandavi Builders, Haji Abdul Jalil Saheb, owner Halima Sabju auditorium, and Nobert Crasto Pitrodi, donor will be present on the occasion.”
The auditorium is located close to national highway 66. The auditorium is equipped with modern facilities with 800 seating capacity. It has been renovated with modern amenities to suit the customers and is available for public events. Fully air-conditioned auditorium is also available in non-AC. The auditorium has a clean and spacious wash room and an organised space for vehicle parking. A 200-seating capacity mini hall and open-air auditorium are also available.
