Udupi: 'Varnothsava 2K23', SMVITM's annual day to be held on Dec 27-28

Udupi, Dec 23: "The annual state level inter-collegiate techno-cultural fest titled 'Varnothsava 2K23', where competitions for engineering students will be held at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology & Management (SMVITM), Bantakal, Udupi on December 27-28, said Rathnakumar, secretary Shri Sode Vadiraja Math Education Trust, Udupi.

Addressing the press meet he said “The events carry attractive prizes worth more than Rs 2 lac. For registration and to know the rules of participation, engineering students in the state may log on to https://varnothsava.sode-edu.in. P Srinivas Thantry, vice president of Shri Sode Vadiraja Math will inaugurate the fest at 9.30 AM on December 27.

"Alumni Shriraksha Acharya, lead support engineer, Cloud Software Group, Citrix will be chief guest and Abhinava Karaba, ADAS engineer, Mercedes Benz Research and Development, India will be the guest of honor. Valedictory function will be held at 3.15 PM on December 28. Vinay Vaishnav, associate director – talent acquisition EY Bengaluru will be chief guest.

"As part of the fest, there will be cultural events consisting of Sur Ninad -Solo singing Classical, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara – Group Singing Filmy, Thaka Dhimi Tha – Solo Classical Dance, Groove Gala – Group Dance, Speech of Smiles – Stand-up Comedy, Silent Symphony – Mime, Who am I? – Face Painting, BannadaPrapancha – Rangoli, Nature’s Palette – Flower Arrangement and Vegetable Carving, Hastha Kala – Mehendi, Melody Chain – Anthakshari, Drishya Kala – Videography, Focus to Prize – Photography, Kala Sangama – Variety Act, Go Grey – Pencil Sketching and Expression Speaks – Pick and Act, and technical events consisting of Electro Wiz, Watt Quest, Code Troopers’ Code Rush, Bug Bane Brawl, Techno Quiz, Robo Soccer, Valorant, Line Follower, Tech Jam, and Wright Brothers (plane competition).

“The fourteenth Annual Day Celebration of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal will be held in the Institute premises on Friday, December 29. The formal function of the annual day celebration will commence at 3 PM, and will be blessed by the presence of Paramapoojya Shri Eeshapriya Theertha Swamiji of Shri Adamaru Math, Udupi. Chandrashekar Bharathi, managing director, AmiT, Bengaluru will be the chief guest for the function. The president of Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust Paramapoojya Shri Vishwavallabha Theertha Swamiji will preside over the function. The vice-president of the trust P Srinivas Thantry, the secretary of the trust Rathnakumar, The principal of SMVITM Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat and The vice principal, Dr Ganesh Aithal will be present for the programme.

"We are moving fast towards the establishment of 'Madhwa Univesity' and the growth of our institution is the key. We will qachivie this feat in the next 4-5 years. The staffs and all the academic facilities are ready for the new MBA programmes which will commence from the following academic year.

"An alumni meet will also be held in the institute on Dec 30 at 10.00 AM. In the evening, Mysore Express, a famous music band will be showcasing a performance at 7:00 PM. Eye catching Auto expo will also be held in the college premise. We have also begun nursing courses in the institution," Rathnakumar said.

Principal of SMVITM Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, vice principal Dr Ganesh Aithal, MBA programme director Dr Suraj Noronha, student welfare officers Dr Raviprabha and Roshan were present during the press conference.
