Udupi: MGM Amrutha Sangama held, thousands of alumni visit their alma mater

Udupi, Dec 23: MGM ‘Amrutha Sangama’, alumni meet on the occasion of platinum jubilee of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College (MGM) was held on December 23, at Muddanna Mantapa, MGM College.

On the occasion to offer respect to Dr TMA Pai, flower garland was offered to Dr TMA Pai statue before office by the guests of the day.

Photo gallery, group photos of all graduated students of MGM was inaugurated at Geetanjali.

Shreesha Acharya, retired principal shared his old and cherished memories on the occasion.

The programme began with the invocation by Meghavarsha Padiyar and Sandhya. Amrutha Sangama was inaugurated by lighting the lamp as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom and by planting the sandalwood sapling.

Various cultural and sports events by alumni were held at college premises. Alumni met their friends, classmates, faculties and others, brought back all their memories and enjoyed the day.

Prof Surendranath Shetty, retired faculty and president of MGM alumni association welcomed the gathering. Poorna Kamath mastered the ceremony. Deepali Kamath, treasurer alumni association proposed the vote of thanks.

M L Samaga, retired principal and convener of Amrutha Sangama, Dr Jayaprakash, Dr Kusuma Kamath, Dr Sandhya Nambiyar, Dr M G Vijay, retired principal MGM College, Dr Devidas Nayak, principal Evening College, CA Varadaraj Pai, secretary Manipal Academy of General Education, Prof Laxmi Narayan Karanth, principal MGM degree college, Malathi Devi, principal MGM PU college, Dr Vishwanath Pai, secretary alumni association, Ragavendra Kini, convener of various committees and others were present.
