Mangaluru: Motorcyclist falls into cable-laying pit, injured

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Dec 25: A motorcyclist had an accidental fall into a pit dug for cable-laying, beside KSR Road in Mangaluru. Fortunately, the rider sustained only minor injuries in the incident.

Despite Mangaluru being a smart city with advanced road infrastructure, ongoing work involving digging up concrete roads for cable installation poses hazards. Mescom is actively engaged in cable laying across various locations, leading to exposed pits on several roads. This situation poses risks for vehicle drivers.

The incident occurred near the city center, emphasizing the need for increased safety measures. The rider, although injured, received prompt medical treatment. The densely populated roads with open pits present a significant concern, especially during night time travel. Local residents have appealed to authorities to address these issues promptly and implement appropriate safety measures.

This city has already grown up (formed) to it's maturity level 😊; how can anyone "create" a Smart City or whatever from an existing 'concretised brick and mortar structure'? Smart City can only be created when it is at the inception (drawing board) level 😊; all this digging, burying, redigging, postmortem, DNA profiling etc etc is only to throw mud in the 👁️s of the gullible public!!!😞😉🙏🙏! First let them provide clean drinking water........rest later on. Please note this is a very personal opinion based on my perception; please apply your logic and think......!!

"emphasizing the need for increased safety measures"...is that so? How about finding who is responsible, who is in-charge?

Smart city means people should be extra smart. Otherwise we will end up in pits. Vehicles parked in smart city walkways. People need to be extra smart to walk on roads. Be smart.
