Kasargod, Dec 26: On September 15, 2021, a 27-year-old individual named Imthiyas was rescued by the Snehalaya team from the streets of Manjeshwara. Subsequently, he was admitted to the Snehalaya Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centre for Men to receive ongoing care and treatment.
At the time of admission, Imthiyas was grappling with mental retardation and exhibited symptoms indicative of mental health issues. The dedicated team at Snehalaya provided him with exceptional care and treatment. With the invaluable support of Shraddha Mumbai, efforts were made to locate his family, initiating the reunion process.
On December 23, 2023, Imthiyas' family from Ballari arrived at Snehalaya Manjeshwar to reclaim their son. His parents, along with his sister and aunt, were overwhelmed with joy at the sight of him after a lengthy separation of seven years. Imthiyas was a special gift on this Christmas that Snehalaya gifted to his family. The entire family was moved to tears of happiness.
Expressing deep gratitude, they extended their thanks to Br Joseph Crasta, the founder of Snehalaya, for his nurturing care, akin to that of a mother. The family also expressed appreciation for Snehalaya and the Shraddha Centre, acknowledging their tireless efforts in the successful reunification of their son.
