Mangaluru, Dec 27: On Tuesday, Dakshina Kannada district reported one COVID-19-related death, with 392 individuals undergoing testing. Fortunately, no new positive cases were detected, maintaining the current active cases at eight.
The Minister of Health for Karnataka has issued directives for heightened vigilance in Dakshina Kannada, emphasizing daily testing due to the increasing prevalence of JN1 mutant cases in neighbouring Kerala. This proactive approach aims to curb the potential spread of the virus.
In response to the directive, a meeting chaired by the zilla panchayat CEO was conducted on Tuesday. The gathering included representatives from medical institutes in Dakshina Kannada district, taluk officers, medical officers from the taluk hospital, and doctors from all primary health centers.
