Udupi: Inter-collegiate techno-cultural fest 'Varnothsava-2K23' inaugurated at SMVITM, Bantakal

Udupi, Dec 27: Varnothsava-2K23, an inter-collegiate techno-cultural fest, was inaugurated at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal on Wednesday, December 27.

Alumnus Shriraksha Acharya, lead support engineer at Cloud Software Group, Citrix was the chief guest of the function, who addressed the gathering. She reminisced the way she began her journey in Varnothsava as a participant in her first year and finished off as a coordinator in her final year.

Abhinav Karaba, another alumnus of the college and ADAS engineer at Mercedes Benz Research and Development India was the guest of honour. He highlighted the importance of having a hobby in one’s life, Yakshagana being his. He also stressed on how adaptability is important to overcome challenges to face life.

Rathnakumar, secretary, Shri Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust, Udupi in his address, recollected contributions of alumni guests and urged the students to become performers like today’s guests.

The dignitaries inaugurated the fest by lighting the lamp. Paul Suraj, physical education director and Jayashree, assistant professor, Department of ECE, announced the winners of sports and various Manthana in-house technical events.

Fourth year CSE student Chandana welcomed the gathering. Manish, second year AI-ML student rendered the invocation and Natasha Chrissane Lobo, second year CSE student proposed the vote of thanks.

Sumayya, second year CSE student and Athmika Shetty, fourth year ECE student compered the programme.

Professor Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal and Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice-principal and others were present.
