Mangaluru, Dec 28: Kshitija, a two-day skill training programme for 150 students of various colleges was held under Vidyakalpaka scholarship at Vishwa Konkani centre of the city.
The programme was inaugurated in the presence of youth Olympian, international Table Tennis athlete Archana Kamath. Archana was felicitated on the occasion for her astounding performance at a very young age. CA Nandagopal Shenoy, president of Vishwa Konkani Centre and brainchild behind the Vidyakalpaka scheme said that the sport achievement done by Archana is a role model for the present young generation.
Priest of Ullal Laxmi Narasimha temple Ganapati Bhat blessed the occasion. Vice president of the centre Gilbert D’Souza, trustee Shakuntala R Kini, senior advisor Ganesha Bhat, Dr B Devadas Pai and parents of international Table Tennis athlete Archana were present.
Ideas were exchanged on ‘Nimma Manasannu Tarabethi Madi’ topic in the counselling session by resource person Sumati Gajanana Pai. Founder president of Trishsa College Mangaluru CA Gopalkrishna Bhat gave lecture on ‘Need to continue higher education’. Preetham Kamath and Vidya Shenoy shared their experiences on the topic ‘Nimma Bhavishyavannu Drishyikarisi. Yuva Vanijyodamigalinda Vritti Jeevana, Udyamasheelathe, working worldgagi Siddaragi’.
On the second day of Kshitija training camp, engineer Gaurish Prabhu gave information on Artificial Intelligence. A two hour interaction was done on the topic ‘Maulyagalu mathu Badukina Spoorthi’ by Rajendra Bhat K of Karkala, Best teacher awardee and national level Jayee trainer. Prof Manjunatha Kamath Nitte exchanged ideas on the topic ‘Swayam Prerane Vritti Aykegagi YouTube’.
On the whole, young students of Kshitija camp were given useful information on education and employment guidance, bank facility for industries, experience sharing of young entrepreneurs, opportunities for higher education and artificial intelligence by resource persons.
Flute music was presented by youth artiste U Samartha Shenoy and team, Hindustani music and quiz in the evening. The students gained lots of knowledge on various topics in the two-day camp.
