Byndoor: Driver killed after car hits electricity pole on divider

Byndoor, Dec 30: In a tragic incident on early Saturday morning, the driver of a car lost control on NH 66 at Kambadakone, near here, resulting in a collision with an electricity pole on the divider.

The unfortunate victim of this accident has been identified as Pradyoth.

The car was en route from Karwar to Kundapur, and the impact of the crash left the vehicle severely mangled. The driver, critically injured in the accident, succumbed while being transported to the hospital.

Pradyoth remained trapped inside the car post-collision, but locals promptly came to his aid, pulling him out and rushing him to the hospital in Byndoor. Subsequently, he was transferred to Kundapur hospital for advanced medical treatment. Unfortunately, the doctors at Kundapur hospital declared him dead upon arrival.

Police Sub-Inspector Timmesh and personnel from Byndoor visited the accident site, registering a case in connection with the incident. IRB personnel also arrived at the scene, clearing debris to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles.

    Why aren't they installing streetlights on the highways, it's so difficult to drive in the night, can hardly see the road divider. Government is only interested in collecting the toll.

    the shape of car says that he must have been driving at not less than 120km..roads in third world countries are made for just 60 to 80km not more than that...very sad...
