Udupi: MIT student qualifies for All India Inter University Boxing Championship

Udupi, Dec 30: In a momentous achievement for MAHE Manipal, boxer Naman Bhat from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) has set a new record by successfully qualifying from the South West Zone for the prestigious All India Inter University Boxing Championship.

This remarkable feat secures their participation in the championship scheduled to be held at Chandigarh University, Punjab, from January 2- 5, 2024. 

Commander (Dr) Anil Rana, director of Manipal Institute of Technology, expressed his pride and joy, stating, "This achievement not only reflects the dedication and hard work of our student-athletes but also the unwavering support and top-notch training facilities provided by MIT Manipal. We are thrilled to witness our boxer's journey to the All India Inter University Boxing Championship and have every confidence in their success."

Lt Gen (Dr) M D Venkatesh, vice chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, added his congratulations, saying, "MAHE has always emphasized the importance of sports in holistic development. We are delighted to witness our athletes excel at the regional level and qualify for such a prestigious national event. This accomplishment showcases the synergy between MAHE and MIT in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of excellence."
