Mangaluru, Dec 30: The 38th Expert Day celebration was held with grandeur and opulence at Time Square of Expert Pre University College, Valachil.
The chief guest Prakash Belawadi, actor, director and writer inaugurated the programme and said, “If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you. If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you”. He also expressed his concern that nature is precious gift given to us by God. Hence, we should enjoy nature without disturbing its balance.
Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, Mangaluru emphasized in his presidential address that students must study whatever they wish but they should achieve some prefixes and suffixes with their name.
In the keynote address, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, Expert Group of institutions, said, "Concentrate on your strengths, not your weaknesses. People who focus on their strengths are more confident, have higher levels of energy and vitality."
The chief guest Prakash Belawadi was felicitated in the traditional manner by Prof Narendra L Nayak and Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak. Dr Vinaychandra, department of Biology read the citation.
Meanwhile, the rank holders of the board and various competitive examinations were feted by the chief guest.
Earlier this day, B Prashanth Kamath, associate vice president and delivery partner, Infosys, as the guest of honour embarked the programme by hoisting the Kodialbail campus flag. Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman hoisted the Valachil campus flag and declared Expert Day open. CA Jagannath Kamath, trustee, distributed the prizes to the students who had won in the various competitions which were held throughout the day.
Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, Expert PU College, Valachil welcomed the august gathering. Prof. Subramanya Udupa, vice principal (academics) presented the college annual report. Prof Shyam Prasad, AICE co-ordinator, read out the names of rank holders.
Prof Ramachandra Bhat, principal, Expert PU College, Kodialbail, Ankush N Nayak director IT, Architect Deepika A Nayak, Ustaad Rafique Khan, trustee, Suresh Pai, trustee, S S Nayak, student council president Abhinand Biju, secretary Suravi Sudhir and other faculty members were present on the occasion.
The following students have been selected for special awards. Suravi Sudhir - Expert Superstar, Pushayanth Sihma, best in Non-Scholastics and Sanjana Sathish Katti, best in Scholastics.
The formal function was followed by cultural extravaganza where students showcased their talents.
Drithi V Hegde, programme director proposed vote of thanks. Sheetal M T of J1 and Sanmathi V S of C1 batch students hosted morning session. Dhiren A. Shetty G1, Ananya V Kodekal S1, Aditya C Rao C1, Gokul G S, D1, Pawani Verma U1 and Veeksha H, C1 batch students compered the programme.
