Mangaluru, Jan 6: Adani Group’s Adani Power Limited – Udupi TPP, under its CSR, on Saturday Janaury 6, kick-started infrastructure development works in the limits of Belapu gram panchayat as per the works notified in Panchayat’s present year action plan. Bhumi pooja for 3 works of project cost of Rs 15 lac were performed by Kishore Alva, president & executive director of Adani Group and Dr Deviprasad Shetty, president of Belapu gram panchayat. The action plan involved development of Jarandaya lake, construction of compound wall for Koraga colony in Devinagar and construction of retaining wall for natural nala in Paniyuru village.
Kishore Alva spoke on the occasion and informed that Adani entity is implementing various developmental works in the vicinity of its thermal power plant in the field of education, health, infrastructure development and promotion of rural sports, art, and culture. Under Infrastructure development activities, the company has declared totally Rs 23 crore for infrastructure development works, out of which nearly Rs 13 crore development works have been completed. Belapu gram panchayat has so far benefitted with infrastructure development works worth Rs. 1.75 crore in addition to the social development works in the field of Health and Education, Alva added. He further informed that Belapu GP has been covering the demands of all the community in its yearly action plan and the same is being executed by the Adani Foundation under its CSR, thereby making the CSR facilities reach all the villagers.
Later, Dr Deviprasad Shetty welcomed the Adani Group’s initiation to deliver the CSR benefits to the villagers. He informed that Jarandaya Daivasthana is a prominent historical place and thousands of devotees visit this Daivasthaana. The development of Jarandaya lake, located in the premises of Daivasthaana, is long pending demand of devotees and villagers, which is being now fulfilled through Adani Foundation’s CSR. Similarly, the koraga community’s worship place located at Sridevinagar in Belapu village is again a historical place, where the society from koraga community from the villages of Kalathuru, Kutyaru, Yellur and Belapu visit and perform pooja at this sanctity. The panchayat is very happy that Adani Foundation is extending its CSR facilities to all the communities, Devi added.
