Udupi: SMES Kannarpady holds thanksgiving Mass as part of its ruby jubilee celebrations

Udupi, Jan 8: A thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration was held as part of the ruby jubilee celebrations of St Mary's English medium school (CBSE), Kannarpady on January 8 in Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi.

Fr Fredrick Mascarenhas, former correspondent celebrated the holy Eucharistic celebrations along with Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves, vicar general diocese of Udupi Fr Roshan D’Souza, chancellor diocese of Udupi Fr Charles Menezes, correspondent and parish priest Mother of Sorrows Church Udupi Fr Vincent Crasta, secretary CESU  Fr Johnson Sequiera, principal Fr Roy Lobo, assistant parish priest and former correspondent and other priests.

 

In his homily Fr Valerian Mendonca, former correspondent and rector said, "We have gathered here to thank God for his blessings he showered upon the institution over the past 40 years. The school which was established on the same church premise has now shifted to a vast campus in Kannarpady and is providing quality education. The lord has showered his choicest blessings on the school and today the whole St Mary's family is thanking Almighty for this. Ruby Jubilee is a special occasion in the development of the school. Thousands of students have received education in this school and have become socially responsible and morally upright citizens of the country. CESU and the management are happy with the development of the school.”

Fr Johnson Sequiera, principal proposed the vote of thanks. Rita Quadrous, vice principal, teaching and non-teaching faculty, parents, students, management committee members and well-wishers participated in the Eucharistic celebration.
